Step 2: Choosing Your Property

Properties are advertised each week. They are advertised in the following ways:

  • Via the Properties and recent lets search panel on this website.

  • In a newsletter (for applicants who are unable to access the internet) which is distributed to the Council's One 4 all Centres, Social Services, housing associations, supported housing providers and local hostels.

    The adverts tell you the landlord, location, size, rent and other features of the property to help you decide which properties are right for you.

A photograph of the property or a similar house type is provided and you can access information about the local area and facilities.

A range of symbols are used to tell you information about the property. An explanation of each symbol can be found on each advert by hovering the cursor over the symbol. This will then display an explanation for a short period of time.

The advert also tells you if there are any special requirements that the applicant must meet, such as age requirements.

How to tell us you're interested in a property

If you see a property advertised that you think would meet your needs, you must tell us that you wish to be considered for it by 'bidding'. You can bid for up to 3 properties each week. You can bid in any of the following ways:

  • On this website

  • By telephone

  • Or in person by calling at the Council’s One4All Centre in Pontypridd


Properties available to rent are advertised from 12:01am on Thursday and close at 11:59pm on Tuesday every week .Bids will not be accepted after midnight on a Tuesday. You will only be able to bid for a property that is suitable for your family size.


If you need any help with bidding or would like someone else to bid on your behalf you should let HomefinderRCT know and we will explain the other options available to you. If you are able to bid on line we would advise you to do this as the phone number provided can often be very busy and you may have to wait for a while for a member of the team to ring you back. Some local libraries also offer access to a computer with internet access but booking may required.
