Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse can be:      Physical,  Sexual, Financial, Psychological, Emotional

The Government defines Domestic Abuse as any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those who are or have been intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality.

There are lots of domestic abuse definitions, however, all agree that power and control underpins all forms of domestic abuse.

Coercive behaviour is an act of assault, threats, humiliation and intimidation or other abuse that harms, punishes or frightens the victim.
